Jacksonville FL Senior Photographer {Kaelyn | Class of 2016}

Man do I love senior sessions! Kaelyn’s mom contacted me a few weeks ago to schedule her daughter’s senior session. We were so excited and after discussing locations we decided on Treaty Oak and Friendship fountain here in Jacksonville FL. This way we could get both the park like atmosphere and also a more urban feel. I love doing these types of sessions because you can really capture how you are as a senior. I love when clients bring things that really speak to who they are as a person, and senior sessions are the absolute best at that!

The day of our session came, and it poured. So we rescheduled. Then the new day came and, it poured again. But we decided to just do the session anyway and hoped that the rain would lighten up. It didn’t really, haha. But honestly the rain made for some interesting photos and we were able to get some playing in the rain done as well, when we weren’t running from lightning.
We did manage to get mostly dry shots, but towards the end of our session the rain picked up and we just rolled with it. Luckily we had an umbrella.

Kaelyn rocked her session and brought a ton of things that are super important to her, like her record player and favorite album. Also, how cool is it that records are coming back?! She also brought a ton of her favorite books, and, my favorite, her polaroid camera and photos of her friends. I’m a total shutterbug so the camera was my fave. I totally had to play with it for a few and now I need one! So so fun!

Check them out! I love this session!

Jacksonville FL Newborn Photographer {Alexis | Fresh 48}

This is Alexis, and her family. I’ve known mom for a couple months from my church. She contacted me about a Fresh 48 session and I was so excited. I don’t do many Fresh 48 sessions, and that is a shame, because I really really love them. A fresh 48 session is a session where I come to the hospital, or birthing center, and capture your first few hours/days with your new little one. The few days in the hospital after having a new baby are such a blur with all the hustle and bustle and visitors and checkups that it is quickly forgotten once you get home. Who did those flowers come from? What was the room number? All of these little details that might not have seemed important at the moment, suddenly become fleeting memories. My job is to capture them so you don’t have to worry about remembering them. You can just look at them later and reminisce. Enjoy!

Jacksonville FL Newborn Photographer {Phoenix | 11 Days New}

I absolutely love photographing newborns, but this little guy was especially exciting for me, because he’s the new sweet addition to my Pastor and his gorgeous wife. I gotta say, I was so nervous before this shoot and kept giving myself the “don’t screw this up” pep talk, but there was no need for nerves because Mr. Phoenix came in and was a rockstar. When I say he rocked his session, I mean this kiddo didn’t make a peep the whole time. He was so chill and like “pose me however, I’m just gonna hang right here.” Love it!

We got quite a few set ups, which always makes for a fun gallery, and I had mom and dad bring some special items to incorporate into the session, like their family bibles and jewelry and old childhood toys. I get all giddy when clients bring in meaningful items to use during their session. It just makes the images that much more unique to their family. And I love producing unique individual images.

So, enough of the chit chat, I present to you the handsome Mr. Phoenix.

Jacksonville FL Family Photographer {Sisters | Mommy and Me}

I’ve already mentioned it before, but in case ya missed it, I really really love mommy and me sessions. I love capturing mom playing and interacting with her kids. This day I got to photograph TWO beautiful mommies with their little girls. The two mommies are sisters and I loved being able to capture both their mommyhoods as well as cousins playing. We met at Hanna Park here in Jacksonville FL. We ALMOST weren’t able to because the weather was looking pretty ominous. However, the rains held off and we were able to get some photos with gorgeous thunderheads in the background. So, I would say it was a success. I hope both mommies enjoy their photos as much as I did taken them. :)

Jacksonville FL Family Photographer {Modern Day Brady Bunch on the Beach}

I’ve known this mom for a long time. She’s so dear to me so when she contacted me for a session for her and her boyfriend’s family, there was no question, it was on! We met at one of my favorite beaches and I was SO excited when they all showed up. Totally classic outfits for a wonderfully classic beach session. Check out how gorgeous these people are!

Oh, and also, the Mr. had called me earlier in the week with an amazing opportunity. He wanted me to photograph his proposal. I admit, I was shaking in anticipation. I was SO excited. I got a few shots of the family sitting on the steps and then took a step back. “Hmmm, I think something is missing here, what do you think?” And out popped the ring. She was in shock. I am so so honored that I got to be there to capture her surprise and her reaction. Best shoot ever!
